Big things are happening

Big things are happening at Meeting for Minds.
We are proud to announce that applications are open for the 2023 Philippe & Maria Halphen Prize, to be awarded at the French Academy of Sciences in Paris in October. Applications close 31 May 2023.

Meeting for Minds 2023 Forum World in a Brainstorm is selling Early Bird tickets now. Join our hybrid event no matter where you are: come to the face-to-face programme in Fremantle, Western Australia or join us online. The theme is How can brain and behavioural science research impact your community for good? Who should come? Researchers, people with lived experience of mental illness and the community; anyone with a brain who is curious about it.

One of the topics we explore is MDMA treatment. Australia has just announced it will officially recognise MDMA and psilocybin as medical treatments for conditions including PTSD, depression, alcoholism and eating disorders.

As the borders have opened, we hope you will come join us for the face to face forum but if you are not able, jump online and be part of the Virtual Brainstorm.

"I have had friends, relatives and very close family members suffer from mental illness and all its debilitating effects. Meeting for Minds is such a brilliant charity linking NeuroScientists and Researchers with those with lived experience. Meeting for Minds believes in a holistic - whole of person - whole of brain - whole of existence approach to preventing and treating mental ill health.
I want to do what I can to raise money to help with the research and alleviating the suffering of those with this condition."

20peace
The 20 Peace activity at North Cottesloe beach offers a chance to take a break from technology and enjoy 20 minutes of stillness in nature. People have been gathering over the summer to share stories, meet new friends, and enjoy the warm water and coffee at Barchetta. There’s something special about what 20 Peace offers each other because we’re a small intimate group. The change of seasons brings new energy and conversations, but the sense of rejuvenation from sitting in nature remains constant. Everyone is welcome to join for a few minutes or the full 20 and experience the benefits of peaceful moments in nature. Come join us, 20 minutes of stillness can bring much peace and then a coffee to share stories, creating our community.
